The Film

Lions and Tigers tells the story of wheelchair basketball in South Sudan.

It tells the story of the team and reveals the players’ personal stories of war, refugee life, coming to terms with disability, and returning home after years of exile during the country’s brutal civil war.

It also examines the legacy of that war and asks what the future holds for the country.

The players of South Sudan’s national wheelchair basketball team show that disability can be overcome in even in the harshest of conditions and that there is hope for this new nation.
